Lip Fillers
What are lip fillers?
Lip fillers provide a temporary enhancement to lips to restore their volume and elasticity that decreases with age. They provide great hydration and correct or improve the shape of your lips creating youthful and rejuvenated appearance. Fillers also create a sharp, more defined lip line that helps lipstick to stay in place and not smudge. They also help to smoothen out lip and around lip wrinkles as well as lines around the mouth called laughter lines.
How do lip fillers work?
Lip filler is gel like substance that is based on hyaluronic acid. They mimic the natural hyaluronic acid produced in our body. Their purpose is to n nurture, add volume and contour lips. Fillers that have been specifically designed for lips have a natural look which also boosts own collagen production. We lose elasticity and collagen production as we age making our skin and lips have wrinkles, loose volume and shape. Hyaluronic acid fillers help to restore lost volume, contour shape, even out wrinkles and create plumpness.
At Beauty Maison Aesthetics we work only with FDA and Health Canada approved fillers from Revanesse, Teosyal and Stylage companies so that we can deliver the best possible results to you.
How many syringes will I need?
Majority of cases require one syringe which is one milliliter or even less than that. If you would want more volume we strongly suggest to build it gradually meaning to use one syringe at a time and add another one in a few weeks giving some time for tissue to adjust to changes. The amount is spreaded between both lips to create the harmonized balance. Overall, many patients require slightly more volume in the lower lip than in the upper lip, however the treatment is individualized to adjust volume and proportions.
Who should consider having lips augmentation?
If you are concerned about any of the following, then you may be a suitable candidate for lip fillers:
- Lost elasticity and volume
- Lip asymmetry
- Naturally thin lips
- Laugh lines around your mouth and corners of lips
- Lip wrinkles and wrinkles on top of the lip called smoker lines
- Poor lip definition
How to prepare for an appointment?
Before your appointment for at lest 48 hours but preferably for 5 days you should stop taking following medications and supplements that thin your blood: Aspirin, Advil or Aleve, Vitamin E, Ginko biloba, fish oil. These medications have blood thinning capacity that will increase your chances of busing and bleeding during lip injection. You may be considering to increase intake of dark green vegetables prior to boost vitamin K production. Eat well before the procedure to avoid feeling nauseous. Your lips will also be numb for one to two hours after the procedure so you should avoid eating right after. Talk to our team if you have had cold sores in the past. You may need to start antiviral treatment if you have a history of herpes (cold sore).
How are lip injections performed?
In the beginning of appoint we will go through your medical history and eligibility criteria for lip filler. Then we discuss the desired look and expectations. Your medical cosmetologist will choose the product suitable for you. Once we establish the treatment plan we can apply anesthetic cream for about 15 minutes to numb the area. Make up will be removed and cleaned with antiseptic. A few injections with small sterile needles will be done in different areas of lips and around the mouth depending on the individual case.
How long lip fillers last?
Lip filler typically last 9 to 15 months. However individual results vary depending on your metabolism, age and lifestyle. If you exercise a lot and you have high metabolism (how fast your body breaks down calories into energy), you fillers probably will last less than usual. Some other contributing factors could be sun exposure, hormonal changes or imbalance, frequent visits to sauna or hot tubs.
What happens after lip filler procedure?
Right after the procedure your injector may gently massage the lips to ensure even distribution. You might be monitored by our staff for up to 15 minutes to make sure you have no side effects. We provide you with post care card and explain post treatment care. After that you will be able to go home.
You may experience some redness and swelling that will subside in a few days and in rare cases can last up to ten days. You may use ice compresses to decrease initial swelling or bruising that may occur.
The final result can be seen in 2-3 weeks. At that point you can schedule a follow up appointment to assess if you would need a correction or you would want to add more volume.
The following are post lip filler tips:
- Do not massage unless instructed by your injector
- Do not touch your lips, avoid drinking from a straw and kissing for 24 to 48 hours
- Avoid exercising and sweating in hot saunas or hot tubs for 48 hours
- Do hydrate yourself well especially in a first few days
If you have a big event coming like wedding, please make sure you schedule you appointment at least two weeks prior. That will allow you to completely recover and get rid of bruises that you may have.
What if I am not happy with results?
Although it is extremely rare there a few options available. Correction of the shape or adding more plumpness can be done by injecting more filler at certain spots. Sometimes there are rare side effects like bumps or prolonged inflammation, vascular compromise and nodules. In such cases we may use an antidote to fillers called hualuronidase. It works by dissolving hyaluronic acid which becomes liquid and reabsorbs by own body. Our certified cosmetic nurse injector is properly trained to avoid complications as well be to be able to deal with them accordingly if there is any to happen.
Chin Fillers
The chin is a key facial feature; a contoured jawline and a strong chin make you look beautiful and young. You have probably heard of dermal fillers, a popular treatment for smoothing wrinkles, face shaping, and lip injections. Restoring volume to your chin is a subtle improvement that could make a great difference and balance out the shape of your face.
No Need for Implant Surgery
If you have a small chin, it could make your lower face appear small and unbalanced. In the past, the only option to correct an under-projected or poorly defined chin was through an invasive implant surgery. Chin fillers provide a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that does not involve pain or need downtime.
Are you conscious of your nose, often feeling like it’s big or pointed? Balancing out your chin also takes the emphasis off your nose, making it appear less prominent. When your chin isn’t proportionate to your face, your nose could appear large, and your lips might seem out of proportion. Chin fillers provide a non-invasive solution for this.
Understanding Dermal Fillers
The dermal filler consists of hyaluronic acid. It is used to non-surgically restore lost volume, minimize signs of aging, and improve facial contours. It is often injected in specific areas of the face. The results are instant with no downtime for the patient. At Beauty Maison Aesthetics we only use Health Canada and FDA approved dermal fillers to guarantee the best possible results.
How Chin Filler Treatment Works
Upon injecting dermal fillers to the chin area, they add volume and the desired definition to the chin. This treatment results in a chin that is proportional to the other features of your face, giving you a more balanced appearance. Your provider could also inject dermal fillers to other areas of your face to harmonize all your facial features. Treatments that go hand-in-hand with chin fillers include liquid rhinoplasty, lip augmentation, and cheek or jaw fillers.
What to Expect During Chin Filler Treatment?
First, an expert from Beauty Maison Aesthetics will evaluate your facial anatomy to enable them to select a dermal filler that best suits your individual goals. The treatment takes roughly one hour. The expert carefully injects the dermal filler under the skin. The treatment procedure is non-invasive and quick. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons outlines the steps of dermal filler treatment.
Are Chain Fillers Painful?
Since fillers are formulated with lidocaine, you will experience little to no discomfort. When the nurse is injecting the filler, you might experience a slight pricking sensation, but the sensation is pain-free. You can apply a cold compress to reduce any discomfort after the procedure.
How Long It Takes to Recover from the procedure
When you receive chin fillers, there is no incision to heal; therefore, you do not need a recovery time after a chin filler treatment. You could experience tenderness and bruises at the injection site, but these fade fast.
The Results of Chin Filler Treatment
You will notice the results of the treatment immediately. However, your face will continue to improve in the following six to eight weeks. The results include a stronger profile, a more chiseled chin, and a harmonious balance of all facial features.
How Long the Results Last
The results vary from patient to patient and will depend on the treatment goals. Typically, the results last for 9 to 15 months.
If your poorly defined or weak chin makes your feel uncomfortable, schedule a consultation with a member of the Beauty Maison Aesthetics medispa. We will determine if you are a good candidate for chin fillers.

Jawline Filler
It is common for people to lose bone density as they age. This problem is more prevalent among women due to the hormonal changes resulting from menopause. The jawline filler treatment is beneficial for both men and women. It helps create a contoured jawline that gives the face a more masculine or feminine appearance. Some people are born with a jawline structure that they don’t like. However, in most cases, a weak or imbalanced jawline comes with aging.
As you age, the skin loses elasticity, making it sag. This makes the jawline appear soft and lacks definition. The corners of your mouth could also sag, leading to wrinkles that extend to the jawline, creating jowls. Two divots, known as the pre-jowl sulcus, could form along your jawline due to the loss of fat tissue; this further accentuates the appearance of the jowls. In these cases, dermal fillers help in filling the wrinkle lines and adding volume where it has been lost. Strategically placed fillers camouflage the appearance of jowls. Jawline filler treatment can be combined with skin tightening treatment.
Who is a Candidate for Jawline Filler Treatment?
Both men and women are good candidates for jawline filler treatment. The procedure benefits men who feel that their face is too oval or slim and seek a more chiseled facial profile. Women who have lost definition due to aging can undergo the procedure to restore a more youthful look. When contouring a man’s jaw, nurses create angles and straight to enhance the jawbone. In women, the treatment seeks to achieve gentle, feminine curves.
How Jawline Filler Works
The jawline filler treatment takes around 30 minutes. When going for treatment, you should wear comfortable clothing; don’t apply makeup. The Beauty Maison Aesthetics nurse administers the treatment via a series of small injections in different sites along your mandible. The injections are not painful, but some people could experience mild discomfort as the needle pricks the skin. You can have a numbing topical cream applied to reduce the sensation in your jaw.
Typical jawline fillers contain calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) and hyaluronic. The filler treatment is often combined with jawline slimming and Nefertiti Lift for the best results.
The Results of Jawline Filler Treatment
The results of jawline filler are visible immediately after the treatment. The procedure sculpts and reshapes the jaw, resulting in balance and symmetry to the frame of your face. Jawline filler reduces the appearance of a double chin and loose skin. In women, the treatment achieves an angle that ranges from soft to dramatic, while in men, the chiselling effect could be more dramatic.
Typical jawline fillers contain calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa) and hyaluronic. The filler treatment is often combined with jawline slimming and Nefertiti Lift for the best results.
How Long the Results Last
How long the results of jawline filler treatment last will vary from person to person. Typically, with calcium hydroxylapatite, the results could last for up to 15 months. With hyaluronic acid fillers, the results could last for up to two years.
You can enhance the life of your jaw filler by:
- Moisturizing your skin often
- Drinking lots of water to keep the skin hydrated
- Avoiding exposure to UV light
- Reducing stress
- Eating a balanced diet
Jawline fillers are safe for most people; in case of side effects, they are minimal. The treatment involves injections, so it is normal to experience swelling, redness, bruising, itching, and tenderness after the treatment. However, these symptoms subside within 48 hours.
Marionette Lines Filler
What they are and how to get rid of them?
Details matter. Especially if it goes about our face, each line creates a unique facial expression and determines how people perceive us. Our skin loses its elasticity and radiance with ageing, consequently changing our face look. Even slight wrinkles can make us look gloomy, sad or even disappointed. Undoubtedly, we can’t turn the clock back. However, it’s totally possible to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin and make your face look healthier. If you are worried about how your skin looks, a consultation with a professional medical aesthetician at Beauty Maison Aesthetics should be your first step.
Identifying the problem
Having noticed age-related changes on a face, people often ask a specialist to correct forehead and frown lines and make the eye brow lift. However, sometimes the secret lies in your smile. The upper half of your face and the lower face create your comprehensive appearance. The corners of your mouth indicate whether you look cheerful or upset. With natural aging, especially after the 40s, so-called marionette lines appear on our faces. Those wrinkles go from the outer mouth corners to the chin, making your lips look downturned, thus creating a pouty look even when you actually don’t feel like that.
The easiest solution for better results
Modern medicine has developed many non-surgical, highly effective methods to treat facial wrinkles. Although the marionette lines are pretty deep wrinkles, they can be easily treated with dermal filler. A course of injections plumps out the wrinkles, reduces a shadow effect on the lower face, reshapes your smile and, as a result, cheers your face appearance.
Dermal fillers restore the lost skin volume, deeply hydrate skin tissues and soften facial lines. You should consider dermal fillers not as a radical intervention in a natural aging process but as a supportive treatment which enriches your skin with beneficial ingredients and helps to improve your appearance. Even after dermal fillers treatment, your skin continues to age smoother and more symmetrical, only less noticeable.

Tear Trough Filler
As we age, the tissues and muscles that support our eyelids weaken. This makes the skin and the fat around the eyes sag. Tear trough filler treatment, known as dermal filler or under-eye filler, makes the trough and skin look tighter and fuller. It is a renowned cosmetic procedure for tackling the deep creases between your lower eyelid and your upper cheek.
With aging, volume loss occurs in this area, resulting in dark circles, hollows, and shadows around the under-eye area. Tear troughs could make us appear haggard, older, tired, and run down, even when we are well-rested and hydrated. Tear troughs can be easily treated with non-surgical dermal fillers. The non-surgical treatment involves injecting a gel-like substance into certain areas around the eyes. The treatment works by replacing the lost volume due to the aging process. The results of tear trough fillers are smooth, younger-looking, and radiant skin.
The Goal of Tear Trough Filler
Tear trough filler seeks to reduce the depth of the tear trough. The procedure takes around 15 to 30 minutes, and the results could last up to 18 months. The nurse should dose the injected dermal filler precisely to achieve the best possible results. At Beauty Maison Aesthetics, you can count on the expertise of our highly skilled certified cosmetic injectors. Our specialists have vast experience treating wrinkles under the eyes and dark eye circles. With our tear trough filler, you will benefit from a fresh and more awake look around the eye area, which rejuvenates your entire facial appearance. We only use dermal fillers from the best brands, which are Health Canada and FDA approved and have long-lasting effects. However, you should note that the effects of dermal fillers are temporary. You have to repeat the procedure for the best results when filler wears off.
Work with an Expert for the Best Results
In Canada, only physicians and nurses can inject dermal fillers. However, if you want to achieve the best results, working with a licensed and certified practitioner in aesthetic field is best. All our specialists at Beauty Maison Aesthetics are registered and fully cerrified; you will be in safe hands. Even if dermal fillers are non-invasive, they also pose some risks if executed by an untrained person.
Who Can Get Under Eye Fillers?
Tear troughs are a popular non-surgical aesthetic procedure amongst young people. The procedure isn’t limited to older persons. Persons of any age can undergo the procedure for a fresher and more rejuvenated look. The treatment gives you a break from tired-looking eyes and restores volume loss.
Preparing for Tear Trough Treatment
During the initial consultation, we will evaluate your medical history and conduct a detailed examination of your face and eyes. We will discuss what you wish to achieve with the procedure and the benefits and risks involved. If we decide that the tear trough filler is an ideal treatment for you, we will apply the filler injection.
You should avoid taking alcohol for 24 hours before the treatment. You should also avoid taking Ibuprofen for 48 hours and aspirin for seven days before the procedure.
The Results of Tear Trough Filler
Dermal fillers produce instant, natural-looking results. Even if you notice an instant improvement in your appearance, the full result will only be seen after two weeks.
All staff at Beauty Maison Aesthetics are medically trained with vast experience in beauty procedures. We will make you feel as comfortable as possible when undergoing the treatment.
